We’re on our final week, but we are so ready @WeAreBCR

We’ve had a frantic, but fortunate week as #teamsanta enter the final week of what we do. It’s been a week of laughter, tears and on one occasion Morris dancing! 🙈

Huge thanks to our fabulous friends at Black Country Radio for helping us reach more potential donors than ever before, we are so grateful.

Current donations stand at 9887 but I’m sure we will smash 10,000 after a donation busting week and the promise of more donations next week. Thanks to Blaze Hair, Santa’s a gangster, Dudley Council staff and councillors, Dudley CAB, Catherine Wilday and her team from DWP, Brierley Hill Health & Social Care Centre and the many other lovelies who’ve dug deep and supported us. I will publish a full list of supporters, thank you Facebook posts etc next week and your Thank you cards will arrive eventually!

The number of lists is up this year and the number of children on the lists has climbed too, as word of what we do and the difference we make spreads.  We’ve sorted over 70 lists of children with individual presents, the majority of lists having an average of 20 children on them ! More to be collected this week. Numerous grotto presents have been given to groups who are doing their own Christmas parties and we’ve provided almost 50 gifts to a party for very special children who had a disability or life-limiting condition.

The elves have been amazing, putting in very long days with  special thanks to Trev for the past few days.  Visitors have arrived and only escaped after being conscripted into wrapping grotto presents 🙈

Hectic week with

  • party for 100 tomorrow
  • Court House carvery parties Monday and Tuesday (50+ each day )
  • more collections from organisations we are supporting
  • more sorting and wrapping of grotto presents
  • LIVE VW BEETLE CAR DRAW on Thursday night
